2010 Seniors!

Come see our senior products, view session options, register for gifts and book your date!

Aspen 2 yrs!

Ahh, the life of a two-year old! On Easter weekend I was able to spend a lot of time with my family and great friends. I was able to go to my friends Keith and Dee's to photograph their daughter Aspen last weekend. Aspen is such a cute kid! I love her. She is so full of energy and loves to play and sing and get into mischief. Here are a few of my favorites from the weekend.

How cute are these!?!! Aspen loves putting on shoes and we thought Keith's fire gear would be so fun her.

We had to get out the tickle bugs for these ones.

On Easter day I meet up with Keith Dee and Aspen and some of their friends at the fire station. The girls had an easter egg hunt inside!

12 years from now........Aspen keep your eyes on the road and stop checking out those boys!

Isabelle and Jacob

Isabelle has to be the most laid back relaxed bride I have ever meet!
Through the whole wedding planning process she was very easy going and happy to be making the decisions. Thankfully the planning went smoothly because she was waiting on her groom to arrive home from the Marines just two weeks before their ceremony.
The day I finally got to meet Jacob was the week before the wedding for their engagement session. Jacob had arrive home from Hawaii to our 3-5 ft snow drifts!
We had a wonderful engagement session and I was ready for their wedding the following week, knowing that these two would be so much fun and relaxed the day of their wedding.
Thankfully these two know how to take life as it comes, because the day of their wedding we got hit with another blizzard! At least it was warm and cozy inside the church with their friends and family that could brave the storm and get shoveled out in time for the ceremony. And know they have an awesome "love story to tell" about their wedding day and the blizzards of 2009.
Thanks guys for letting me be a part of your wedding day! Here are a few of my favorites.
Yes, These are the boots that Isabelle wore all day until I made her take them off for this shot!

Blizzards of 2009!

On Saturday we were hit with another heavy snow "blizzard conditions". And I had a wedding 40 miles away! My assistant Heather Thompson and I started out on our journey only to drive 45 mph and be blinded by the crazy weather. I finally pulled off in Whitewood (which is only 15 miles away from Spearfish) after a 35 minute drive and called my husband. He came to our rescue and drove us the rest of the way.

Although the weather was horrible. We had a beautiful wedding to photograph and I am very excited to share some of the images with you soon.

These photographs were taken by Heather as she laughed at me through my nervous smiles!

About Me

It's not hard to tell... "I LOVE WHAT I DO!"
I am very blessed to be able to share my passion of photography to document life's moments. I love photographing the moments that are REAL, the moments in between the posed portraits.
These moments are the defining moments of who you really are.
"Let us tell your story," through photographs that will document your life's moments for years to come.

-WHY I LOVE PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY-

I LOVE WEDDINGS!
To be a part of the wedding day and being able to capture the emotion and moments that define the day. I feel honored to be a part of one of the most important days in a couples life. Communication is key in any relationship and I am happy when I can make a couple comfortable around me to just relax and be themselves. It is a great feeling when the bride and groom become friends and they let me into their lives to understand who they really are. That is the moment I can begin to "tell their story".

I LOVE ENGAGEMENTS!
I love getting to know each of my wedding couples better by photographing their engagement session. It is a great opportunity to get to know them and begin to learn and "tell their love story". Engagement sessions are a time for the couple to go and have fun and capture the moments that they love to do together.

I LOVE KIDS!
To photograph a child is priceless. The expressions that come from kids when they are so innocent is so much fun to capture. They are shy, daring, quite, noisy ~ full of life. I love photographing most children outside or in familiar surroundings. Kids really open up when they have room to explore.

I LOVE NEWBORN BABIES!
To see the twinkle in a newborns eyes and to see the never ending smile of a new mother or father in the first few weeks of life is truly magical.

I LOVE FAMILIES!
To see a family get to be a family together, laugh together, play together and embrace moments together is inspiring. My favorite thing for families is getting to go on a family adventure; a trip to the park, a hike through the canyon, or a night by the fire reading stories.

I LOVE SENIORS!
So many of the seniors that I have photographed in the last years I have watched grow up. It's amazing how fast high school goes by sometimes. It feels like I was just there myself, but counting back the years I've ran out of fingers on my hands.
If I have not had the pleasure of knowing a senior before their graduation debut, most return in the following years with engagement rings or families to let me help them capture their new life moments.

I am thankful for my college professors Steve Babbit and Jerry Rawlings for showing me the skills and knowledge that began what my carer has unfolded into today. They both gave me the strength in my personal life and in my photography to pursue my dreams. Without them I would not have the opportunity to realize I could have my dream full time.

I am thankful for my family. My parents for being the best they know how and always offering an ear to listen to my dreams and latest ideas. To my brother, one of my best friends, for being my protector and encourager. To my in-laws for always seeing my strengths and helping a hand in any way that they can. For my friends who support my passion for photography and always let me be myself!
And most of all for my husband, Chris. He is my solid rock, my love of my life and my very best friend. He shares my passion for photography and love of the outdoors and arts. He is encouraging, inspiring, motivating and forgiving. (I love you)

I am passionate about life, family, friends and my photography!
If you would like more information about your event please send me an e-mail.
I would love to hear from you and "tell your story."
