Off to Summer Camp!

Well, It is that time of year for summer camp! At least that's what it feels like. I've been packing and planning a week trip to Iowa, to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls for the 2009 Mid-American Institute of Professional Photography.

There are many photographers there who are teaching for a week and I am going to be studying under Chris Carlson From Wisconsin! I am super excited for the trip and to visit and learn with many photographers from all over the country. 

But besides that I am very excited to spend time with two of my best-friends from college. I will be with Jenni Hahn all week and we are staying with Sara Munneke on the way there and home. As I was preparing to write my blog today I could only think of two pictures that I have with Jenni.  The first from graduation, and the second from my wedding day. Jenni was my photographer and the only picture I got with her was through the mirror as she helped me get ready. 

So it is my goal to take many fun photos with these two while I am gone to share when I return. I was totally bummed that I didn't have more photos with Jenni. Sara and I have quite a few photos together, but nothing recent. The one below was from College Graduation and we both had very long hair that we both beg for back!

All in all I am very excited to spend time with these amazing friends/photographers!

Memorial Weekend

Chris and I spent our entire weekend doing home improvements. Tearing down old decks, tiling the kitchen, painting and staining the house ..... but on Sunday night after we had a nice rain fall and relaxed for five minutes, Chris made sure I got in some photography for the weekend. We chased a few rainbows, and then sat at the base of Crow Peak and watched the sun set through the rain clouds. It is an amazing view on to the Wyoming border from this spot. Here are a few of my favorites.

Congratulations Lead-Deadwood Class of 2009! Have a great graduation weekend. I have watched some of you grow up over your high school years and I love you all very much. I am excited to see what the future holds for you! You are all great individuals!

Mandy & Cameron

I had a wonderful Sunday afternoon with a beautiful couple as we captured their "Love Story". Mandy and Cameron were so much fun! Cameron kept Mandy laughing the whole session as they snuggled in close enjoying the spring afternoon. They met through friends and family which is a great combination for a wedding celebration. I can't wait for the wedding in September in Wyoming! Thanks you guys for coming to Spearfish for your engagement session, I can't wait to see you again.

Graduation weekend for Spearfish!

Congrats to the Senior class of 2009 from Spearfish High School! I had really incredible seniors this season. Each one has so much to offer this world and our country and I am so excited to watch them go on their ways of growing into out standing people! Thank you so much for letting me "tell your story " as you move into your next life chapter! Good Luck and have an amazing weekend!

Amanda & Tyler Engaged!

I am so excited that Amanda and Tyler have asked me to document their wedding day! Their engagement session was amazing and they were so much fun to work with. They are both from the Sturgis area, but met while out with friends. I loved photographing their engagement "love story". The wedding is going to be super fun!  A huge wedding party and plenty of family and friends in the area to help them celebrate! Thanks guys, I can't wait to see you again!

A Love Story!

I spent a beautiful Monday afternoon with Jill and Cole last week. We had a great session and I am so excited for them that they are getting to have a wedding celebration this summer in July with their friends and families. Thanks Jill & Cole you were awesome, I can't wait to help you celebrate your marriage.
